Since the last post things have been pretty calm....ish.
Today mom was on her way home from church and tripped and fell. She hurt her foot pretty badly, and scraped up the other knee pretty well. Their neighbor, who is a nurse, came to check it out and they're actually more worried about her knee than her foot. The shot mom gets 24 hours after chemo makes mom's immune system pretty weak and they're nervous that it could get infected.
Dad wanted to take her to get it checked out, but mom wanted to spend a Sunday out of the emergency room. I hope they'll take her tomorrow, and I'm thinking they will because she hobbles around on crutches and we want her to be feeling better STAT.
We got to spend a wonderful evening at Grandma and Grandpa Kenningtons house tonight. Grandpa Winchester was also able to come and it was so great to be all together. We worry about them, and it was so nice to hear how they've been doing. They're wonderful.
Dad's legs are doing well, we just have to keep an eye on them. He is still on the blood thinner. I'm not sure how long that will last, but I'm hoping he will start to feel better soon.
All in all things have been going well. Mom hasn't been sick from her chemo, which is a huge blessing. She goes back to work on Wednesday, the same day Jason starts his Junior year of high school. When did he grow up??!
Speaking of Jason, he got his drivers license this week! He turned 17 August 5, and got his license not long after that. He's a great driver and we are really proud of him for passing his test. He also works at an auto repair shop doing all sorts of things and he really likes it. He is especially good and doing breaks and oil changes. He is a hard worker. He and his best friend just started their own company making and selling parachord bracelets so we hope that goes well.
Loni and Mark got some exciting news this week! We have known they are expecting their own little bundle for a while, but this week we found out what it was! They had a really fun gender reveal party on Wednesday night. They had fun decorations and yummy snacks, and they had close friends and family members over. We each guessed what we thought it was, and then they did their grand reveal.
