Mom has been having intense shoulder pain for the past 3 weeks. Last night she was advised to go to the ER as they suspected a blood clot. While there she was given a CT scan and the results showed that the she has 3 tumors in her right lung, one had grow almost double and that she also had cancer in her left lung and on and in her liver and various places in her abdominal cavity.
They gave her some heavy medication to help her pain and today she was seen at Huntsman. She had an ultrasound on her right arm and it was determined that she does not have any blood clots. She was given IV pain medication and finally found some relief.
At this time the plan is to move forward with radiation on the largest tumors in her right lung, to help decrease her pain. Depending on how the tumors respond will then determine the prognosis and timeline.
She is, as always, in good spirits. Dad will be home with her this week. They hope to be able to spend as much time together as they can. She is tired and in pain but hopefully the medications will help.
