The next day Grandma Kennington fell down hard and was transported to the ER. She had a CT scan an x-rays. Thankfully nothing was broken but she is very bruised up and in a lot of pain. She has been taking care of her husband, Don, for a long time. They moved into Kory and Tina's in October. That was really a hard thing for Mom and Dad, but it was for the best. Grandpa Don has really gone down hill this last month. He had serious memory problems for a long time but very bad this last month. He required a lot of care.
Mom was discharged from the ER Friday evening. As a family we spent most of Saturday trying to fined a care facility for Don. That evening, not 30 minutes from when they got back, Don fell and broke his femur. He was taken to the ER where he was put into the hospital. Sunday he had surgery to repair his brake. He did well in surgery, but by Tuesday he was not rallying at all. Arlene went back to the ER on Tuesday because she was in so much pain. After more meds she was discharged and was taken to see Don. She was heavily medicated and Don was unresponsive but was still a very tender scene.
Donald Kennington passed away at 6:45 am on New Years day at the McKay-Dee Hospital in Ogden, Utah. We spent the morning at his bedside until the mortuary came to get him. It was a very special time. We met with the mortuary this afternoon to prepare the services. What an amazing day. So much love and togetherness. It's been very special.
The viewing will be Monday evening with the funeral on Tuesday. Wednesday we will travel to Fairview Wy for the burial.
We had Mom and Dad over for Thanksgiving this last year and it was so much fun. Wow, so much can change so fast.

So sorry to hear of the passing of Don. I thought he was a wonderful man who was always so kind and friendly to me. My love goes out to you and your family.
