Ken's recent health news

Ken had surgery on Monday November 14, 2016.  Dr. Heaton, (our Bishop) was the surgeon.  It was done at the Ogden Regional Medical Center. Ken's prostate was enlarged and it made urinating very difficult to say the least.  Dr. Heaton removed some swollen tissue around his urethra in the prostate. Ken was supposed to go home the same day, but some extra bleeding kept him overnight into the next day.  We got a call a week later from Dr. Heaton telling us that the tissue removed showed signs of cancer.  Well, that blind sided us!  That was not even on our radar.  Life just always keep happening doesn't it.  We have so many questions.  Dr. Heaton said that he isn't worried and hopes that we don't worry either.  We meet with him on December 7th and hopefully we will get more questions answered. I got the impression from Dr. Heaton that there wouldn't be any treatment and that he would monitor Ken closely. We are both in shock!  I love him so much and I feel so bad for him!  Cancer is scary but it also has some really awesome blessings!
