Getting our Christmas on!

Really really sorry there has been a total lack of posts lately. We are excited to share a few updates with you as we celebrate the Christmas season. Christmas has always been a very big deal at the Kennington house. Mom may start listening to Christmas music as early as July :) We love to gather around the piano and sing carols together and it's been wonderful to pass that tradition on to the next generation.

Mom completed her 6th round of chemo the first part of December. This will be her last round of this type of chemo as it can only be administered 6 times. For her last round she was pampered and given the corner VIP suite. She certainly deserved it! They always treat her like a VIP at Huntsman, we've been so blessed to have excellent nurses and doctors to care for mom. We especially have grown close to a nurse named Karen. She and Mom have become friends and she has just taken excellent care of her, even when she's not her assigned patient. It's tender mercies like this that help make going through the treatment process a bit more bearable.

The next step for Mom is to do a scan the first part of February to see what her two cancer spots (right lung and right shoulder) are doing. If they remain stable  and there are no new growths (which is what we're praying for) then they will consult with a surgeon and most likely have them removed.

We have an update on Dad as well. He had surgery just before Thanksgiving to repair a hernia. The surgery went well and the recover came together nicely after a few days that were not so great. He's a trooper that Father of ours. He takes such good care of all of us and especially our mother. 

We have truly enjoyed spending time together and preparing for Christmas this year. Time together becomes that much more special when you go through so much together. This will be Tracee's little Lucy's first Christmas and my little baby is due at the end of the year but may make her appearance before Christmas as well. We are so blessed.We hope you are all enjoying a wonderful Christmas season as well!
